How To Give Up To Smoking

Broad advertising contributes greatly to the popularity of various products. People start buying something when they are told by mass media to do it. Various commercials give great promotion to a lot of products which are not as necessary for us as they are claimed and consequently people often buy goods that they do not need at all.

There is no harm when some household appliances or cars are promoted. The situation is much more serious when the commercial deals with some specialized goods like food, various pills and vitamins, additives etc. According to the commercial they have only positive effect and no one tells that this or that food additive has contraindications. Pointing at drawbacks is not profitable for manufacturers.

The same state of affairs is observed when we see herbal smoking advertised. The manufacturers claim that herbal cigarettes are completely harmless and even have positive impact on smokers’ health. And this makes a lot of people thoughtlessly turn to herbal smoking without any concern about their health, since they are confident in harmlessness of their actions.

Certainly, herbal cigarettes are better than tobacco ones. They do not contain nicotine and other dangerous substances. Moreover, they are not so addictive since nicotine causes physical addiction to smoking. Herbs are no way associated with illegal buds like marihuana. They do not have any impacts on mental health of smokers.

Actually these are all advantages of herbal smoking, which are really exaggerated by commercials. Unfortunately, no one tells smokers about negative impact that herbal cigarettes do really have. Advertising is aimed at promotion of products but not informing the customers about real advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, it is obvious for everyone that smoking is impossible without inhaling smoke. In fact, this is the nature of smoking. So, if to think carefully, it becomes quite clear that as any kind of smoke, smoke produced by herbal cigarettes irritates lungs. Besides, it contains carbon dioxide and tar which may also be dangerous to lungs. But smokers being sure in complete absence of danger smoke a lot and do not even think of any possible negative consequences. And the latter are quite real. Abovementioned tars may clog the lungs if inhaled in large amounts.

That is why herbal smoking may become a good example of how commercials hide negative sides of products and significantly exaggerate everything positive. It is unreasonable to unconditionally believe to everything we hear from our TVs. When it concerns our health it is better to make a small research and read some more scientific sources, other than commercials and promo articles at popular magazines. Otherwise we may easily fall for the bait of manufacturers trying to sale their products.
